Our cars are getting better all the time. But yet again this year, tens of thousands of people will die in auto accidents. The National Transportation Safety Board has a recommendation to bring down those numbers by 80 percent. It wants automakers to make collision detection technology standard. These are the systems that spot an imminent collision and either warn the driver or take autonomous action to prevent a crash.Given how much good it can do, the agency says, automakers should make collision avoidance as standard as seat belts, and not an add-on feature....
