Media Platforms Design TeamMichigan-based artist Shannon Goff created a life-sized model of her grandfather’s 1979 Lincoln Continental Mark V for a new exhibition called “Miles to Empty.” The detailed recreation includes everything from the classic Lincoln hood ornament to the spare tire storage in the trunk. The beautiful replica even includes an intricately carved steering wheel and all the dashboard controls. Media Platforms Design Team"I always loved my grandfather’s car. I grew up with it from about age 5 until I left for college," Goff says. “It was custom medium metallic turquoise with a white vinyl carriage roof and turquoise leather interior. When I was 13, my older sister and I rode with my grandparents some 700 miles from Detroit to Quebec City. They gave me the gift of the open road.“On display until November 14 at the Susanne Hilberry Gallery in Ferndale, Michigan, this cardboard classic is the perfect tribute to The Motor City.
